About Goji

About Goji

Goji is a plant primarily grown in northern China that produces extremely healthful red berries known as Goji berries or Wolfberries.

If you've never seen a wolfberry before, you'd think that they look like small, bright-red, hot peppers (chilis). However, their taste is sweet and tangy, between a cherry and a cranberry, but not as strong in tartness as either.

In the US and other countries outside of Asia, the only way to get Goji berries is to buy them in their dried-out form, which is shriveled and looks just like a bright, red raisin. Sadly, having them dried means losing some of their awesome nutritional benefits.

Why is Goji so popular?

Goji has been a well-kept National secret in China for many Millennia. Long before Christ was born, the Chinese were telling ancient stories about how Goji berries were the food of the immortals and reported stories of extremely old people who have eaten Goji berries for their entire lives.

Only very recently has the rest of the world been privy to that secret, Apparently the Chinese are extremely good at keeping secrets!

What really makes them popular however, is their top-notch health properties.

In short, Goji has been scientifically proven to possess the highest number of nutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals of any single food soruce known to mankind.

There is no other fruit nor berry with as much documented proof of nutritional superiority as the Goji berry, particularly the ones from the Ningxia province in Northern China. As more scientists test the properties of this awesome superfruit, more word gets out and more people start eating them regularly.

Question: What do Goji Berries taste like?

i put this in diet & fitness because they're supposed to be really good for you.
so i figured people here would know.

i didn't know where else to put it.
o-o;

are they sweet? bitter? juicy?
[:

Answer: They are interesting-tasting, haha. The first time I tried them, I didn't like them. But I got used to the taste and like them now.

They are like a mix between cranberry and cherry, but have a slight bitter taste to it. But it's not really recognized as bitter because it's also sweet. It definitely tastes exotic. Also, they are dried, I don't believe you can find fresh goji berries, unless you purchase the juice. But they're chewy, and wrinkled and look like dried cranberries.
